CONTIGUOUS
PILED WALLS
In order to
construct 4 No three
storey town houses into the rear embankment
of a prestigious site in Bournemouth it was
necessary to install a contiguous piled
wall.
An existing
stone faced wall was removed and a bund was
created to provide a platform for the
mini-piling rig and to provide temporary
support to the embankment.
Temporary
cased 450mm diameter piles were installed into the underlying cemented Sand.
These then had to be extended above piling
platform level to create the retaining wall.
The piled wall was completed by facing with blockwork.
